david c. vaughan

Singer / Songwriter
Phoenix, Arizona
David C. Vaughan is a singer/songwriter from the Phoenix, AZ area. A New Yorker by birth, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music, spending five years creating and shaping the band Blind By Choice.  David’s live skills were honed during this time, as Blind By Choice performed semi-nightly, opening for national touring acts on some of the most famous stages in music, including; The Troubador, The Key Club, Viper Room, and the legendary Whisky.  Many labels showed sincere interest in the band, however, musical and creative differences led to the dissolution of one of the finest hard rock bands of our era.
After a brief departure from the music business David began developing his own acoustic-rock style.  This new style seems much more natural to David, as opposed to his Blind By Choice days.  He has amazing songwriting ability, and has written many songs with the potential to be hit singles.  Among these are, Your Grace Rules, Flesh & Bones, and Watch the World Go By.
David’s percussionist, and brother, Jeff Vaughan believes David’s positive message is uplifting and inspirational. David is Christian and incorporates a spiritual edge into his lyrics, while appealing to the mainstream world. He sings and plays guitar during his live performances, however in the recording process, you can find him playing nearly every instrument.  “Guitars, bass guitar, vocals, string arrangements, percussion and anything else that comes to mind.” David’s current band consists of himself – vocals & guitar, Jeff – drums & percussion, and Miseal - bass guitar.
David is currently in the studio, recording his newest songs for an expected release later this year. He and his band spend most nights playing clubs, churches, coffee houses and any venue offering live music in the Phoenix area.  This trio of musicians playing live is a captivating experience, with many accolades to David’s seemingly natural stage-presence.  The songs are performed as though taking the listener on a ride from the beautiful to the extreme and back again.  Each musician possessing natural talents on their respective instruments, they have each carefully crafted their parts as to complement David’s compositions.
David, like most musicians, is driven by a power he cannot fully describe.  “It’s just natural for me”, he is quoted as saying,  “At times, it just feels like the music is flowing right through me.” He continues, “I really hope that through my music, I can be a light unto the world.”
While David’s musical preferences are diverse, he has narrowed down a few he would love the opportunity to open for, or perhaps even to work with.  He states, “There’s so many great bands out there, but if I had to name a few off the top of my head, I love to open for Jars of Clay, Third Day, Switchfoot, Mercy Me.”
